Play your part in shaping the future
Fine Gael's 76th Ard Fheis on Friday, March 30 and Saturday 31, will be an historic occasion. It will be the first Ard Fheis held by the Party whilst in Government, for 16 years. The Ard Fheis is all about the Membership of our great Party. We hope that you can take an active part in the policy discussions, workshops and voting over the course of the weekend.
Message from An Taoiseach
The 76th Fine Gael Ard Fheis on March 30 and 31 is critically important. It will be the first time in 16 years that we will have an Ard Fheis while in government.
The Ard Fheis will provide an opportunity for all members of the Party to shape policy as we move together towards our goal of restoring economic sovereignty by creating a climate for growth.
The Party's unprecedented success in the 2011 General Election, when the people made Fine Gael the biggest political party in the State, was a product of the hard work of its many loyal members.
Now, once again, our great national movement is tasked with steering Ireland through difficult times and rebuilding the economy. It is a challenge from which Fine Gael has not shirked.
The fact that Fine Gael faces this challenge with passion, confidence and vigour is a tribute to every member of the Party who has worked to change Ireland for the better.
Fine Gael in government is delivering on its promise to work unstintingly to re-establish economic independence by growing the economy.
As a result of government decisions, international investor confidence in Ireland has increased significantly and the perception of this country abroad has improved.
Job creation remains the Government's number one priority. Ireland's workforce remains exceptionally young, well educated and eager to work hard. This country has great potential. This Ard Fheis is about inviting our members to play their part in shaping the future.
Fine Gael must continue as the driving force in local democracy and stay at the forefront of Ireland's representation in the European Parliament. Ard Fheis 2012 will mark an initial step in our preparations for the Local and European Elections of 2014.
There will also be a variety of social events on both Friday and Saturday nights. You are encouraged to come along.
We look forward to seeing you there: Play your part.
Enjoy the weekend.
An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD
