Senator Tony Mulcahy was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Labour Panel in April 2011
Formerly Councillor Mulcahy was re-elected to Clare County Council and Shannon Town Council in June 2009. He was the Fine Gael Group Leader on both local authorities.
Chairperson Clare County Council, 09-10, Shannon Town Council, 2010-11. Tony was elected to both Shannon Town Council and Clare Co. Council in 1999.
He was re-elected to both councils in 2004, topping the poll in Shannon.
Tony has been a long time supporter of the rights of people with disabilities and has served on the board of the Clare Federation of People with Special Needs for the last three years and is currently vice chairperson.
Whether it is Disability, Crime, The Elderly, Housing, Medical, Planning etc Tony has a reputation as a hard grafter and a fearless campaigner with the courage to take on any case no matter how big or small.
