P.J. is an experienced and capable candidate, who was first elected to office in 1991 representing Bishopstown. P.J. has four children and eleven grandchildren, all living locally. He is a building contractor by profession, and is very well known and trusted in his local area. He is an active member of the local community and is Chairman of Bishopstown Community Association. He is also a member of Bishopstown Pitch and Putt club and Bishopstown GAA club, and generally speaking has a keen interest in all local sports clubs. He can be relied upon to put the best interests of the local people forward, and he is keen to see that the new Development Plan is drawn up in manner which is sensitive to the needs and best interests of his local electoral area. He is also focused on taking steps to eliminate the problem of dereliction in Bishopstown. He is aware of the needs of the community in terms of amenities for the young and families; he will work hard to secure funding to build a National standard playground, as well as this he wants to local roads to be maintained to high standards in his area. He is looking forward to serving all within his area to the best of his ability in any capacity he is required to.
