My name is James O’Donovan and I come from the town of Bandon in West Cork. I studied at St Brogan’s College where I completed my Leaving Certificate and then entered into a four year course in Quantity surveying in Cork Institute of Technology where I graduated with an honours degree in 2009. Finding work in this field was difficult at that time so I joined up with a former work colleague from the construction industry, and set up a mobile fish shop. I take part in the historical sport of Road Bowling and I am also heavily involved with Bandon GAA. I spend two days per week in Bandon Town and that helps me to keep up to speed with all local issues and makes me accessible to the people of the locality. To be of service to the people of my area is my ethos. To serve the people and also the people of Fine Gael is what drives me.
