Aidan was co-opted as a member of Cork County Council in June 2016, replacing his brother Tim, following his election to Seanad Éireann.
Aidan, 35, has two children with his partner, Irene, and is the owner of Excel Landscapes, a subcontractor to civil engineering companies that specialises in stonework and paving. He hopes to use this expertise in the council to help prepare works which will be needed with the likelihood of increasingly volatile weather caused by global warming.
Aidan’s priorities are to get a western relief road in place to help ease gridlock in Carrigaline.
In Bandon he wants to ensure the flood relief and sewerage works are completed with minimum disruption to traders and local residents alike.
For Kinsale, the other big town in the municipal district, his priority will be make it even more attractive to tourists.
