Terence was co-opted to take Charlie Bennett’s seat in 2001 and was subsequently re elected in 2004, 2009 and 2014. He is married to Patricia and they have three children. Terence received a Master’s Degree in Science from Trinity College Dublin.
He works daily for the local electorate to ensure that the necessary infrastructures are put in place to allow investment and jobs to be created in West Donegal. Of particular interest to Councillor Slowey is the strengthening of the roads network and the connection of West Donegal to the other major centres of population across the country.
The upgrading of planned water provision in West Donegal is also critical for local investment, and as well as that Terence is highly committed to focusing on West Donegal’s Tourism, Fisheries and Agricultural businesses to ensure that households can continue to provide for their families in West Donegal.
The development of education and training is also critical to ensure sustainable meaningful employment for all local people and Terence is intent on working for the betterment of all communities across Donegal.
Terence served as Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, in 2016-17.
