Norma grew up in Drumcondra and is a past pupil of Holy Child in Larkhill and Maryfield College in Marino.
She studied Economics, Politics and Law in DCU and spent a year in Prague on the DCU Erasmus Exchange Programme. Throughout her time in college, she was active on various committees and was class representative.
After graduation, she spent a year working in the Mater Hospital in various roles including administrator with the North Dublin GP Programme and as a researcher for a Consultant in Infectious Diseases.
She learned a great many things about the social problems facing North Dublin through this work. Norma studied law at night in the King’s Inns and was active in debating and mooting.
Norma now works as a Barrister in the Four Courts – primarily in commercial, family and employment law. Last semester she taught on the law course in DCU.
She volunteers with the Free Legal Advice Centre in Finglas and Ballymun on a regular basis.
As an advocate, she gives a strong voice to the people of Ballymun, Glasnevin, Santry, Whitehall and Drumcondra on Dublin City Council.
When Norma has a free evening she likes to go for a run, do some drawing or go to a concert. She likes to travel and has spent summers living in Berlin and Canada.
