Peter was first co-opted to take Ulick Burke’s seat in 2004, he is married to Juliet and they have three children. A farmer and full-time public representative as well as a member of the IFA, Peter is particularly interested in the revitalisation of small local towns. A capable, eager and dynamic elected member Peter has worked successfully on important projects which have resulted in the acquisition of sites for six new schools. A natural leader he is currently involved in local infrastructural development and is actively seeking new sustainable ways to attract foreign direct investment to the local 250 acre IDA site. Athenry and Oranmore are fast growing communities and in order to further develop their full economic potential, dynamic informed leadership is required. As a natural leader Peter does not see barriers he sees opportunities and possesses the skills in abundance along with the capabilities and experience required to be the type of public representative to drive change. Peter is aware that these are difficult times but he is vigorously working to make the community vibrant for all citizens despite limitations.
