Cllr Gerald F. Mitchell
I intend to be the strong voice that is needed to represent the community in a fair and honest manner. I understand that positive change is needed. My aims are to serve and help the people young, old, disabled, vulnerable and those from all social backgrounds, to uphold the office with integrity, to combat anti-social behaviour, and to promote rural services and infrastructure leading to job creation.
I want to continue a family tradition of helping people; Tomas B. Mitchell was the first Chairman of Limerick County Council in 1899, Edward Mitchell served with him on the same Council followed by E.J. Mitchell and Tom Mitchell, solicitor and coroner. I believe in public service not self-service, and transparency, accountability and justice from the top down. I will work tirelessly for you and with you. I have a proven track record with E.J. Mitchell & Sons Auctioneers and can use this expertise in representing you. I will represent you, as my ancestors did, in a fair and honest manner.
Gerald was elected as Mayor of Limerick City and County Council for the year 2023-24.
