Councillor William O’Donnell

Cllr William O’Donnell

Limerick City and County Council

Politics is in Bill’s genes and he is a fourth generation politician in his family. Among the many notables in his family is his Great Grandfather Foxy Tom O’Donnell, who was a founding member of Limerick County Council. Bill was first elected to office at the 2009 local election to Limerick County Council. He is in the legal profession and works as a Solicitor in Limerick City. He is on the Board of Directors of the Ballyhoura Local Development Association and is a member of Bruff Rugby Club. He and his family are also involved in the horse racing industry in Co. Limerick. Since election Bill has worked tirelessly to serve the local community and has been at the forefront of promoting the area in terms of its economic development. He has a keen interest in housing policy and has been particularly involved in the very successful playground initiative in which a mutually beneficial successful collaboration exists between the Council and local groups. The local community own the playgrounds and Limerick County Council have taken over the responsibility for insurance and maintenance of them, this arrangement works very successfully for both parties. Bill will continue to work hard to improve the lives of all citizens within his local electoral area.
