Gillian was born & raised in Ratoath, the daughter of a local primary-school teacher & farmer. She is married to Gabriel & they have a daughter, Ellen. She attended St. Seachnaill’s National school in Dunshaughlin & secondary school at the Dominican Convent, Navan Road, Dublin 7. She studied Pharmacy at Trinity College, Dublin & served her “apprenticeship” in Artane, Dublin 5 in 1989.
Gillian has served her professional time as an employee in the community -Pharmacist; a managing- Pharmacist and as a business owner & employer. She is a former committee-member of the Dunshaughlin Business Association, helping steer it to Chamber of Commerce status & served as its President for 2 years. She has a keen interest in health, education & business matters.
Gillian is currently Chairperson of Ratoath Musical & Dramatic society, where she utilises her life & business experiences to aid the growth & development of a community organisation that fosters, encourages & displays the artistic talents of all age groups in the catchment area of south Meath. She strongly believes that the arts enrich us, whilst generating growth & tourism at a local level. Gillian believes in a society that values creativity, imagination & expression – a community that can provide solutions to many of its own problems.
