Cllr John Naughten
John is a Farmer and Public representative. Married to Breda, the couple have three children.
His experience representing the people of Roscommon over the last ten years, as well as involvement with local community and sporting organisations, ensures he is well aware of issues concerning the people.
For the Roscommon area to continue to develop, significant ongoing investment in infrastructure is required, particularly in relation to water, roads, and waste water treatment. Investment such as this also plays a crucial role in attracting companies to locate and invest in areas like Monksland which has secured the creation of significant employment. The Council provides many key local services and amenities such as Fire Service, Library, Swimming Pool and Playgrounds. It also provides housing grants to people with disabilities and the elderly and this has continued through tough economic times with the support of Council members. He will continue to campaign for investment in areas such as health, education, tourism and agriculture which play a vital role in the economic and social development of County Roscommon.
