Pat Nugent

Pat has been an elected representative to Waterford County Council since 2004. He represents the West Waterford-Dungarvan area, is married to Eileen and they have eight children. Pat is a lifelong member of Clashmore, Kinsalebeg GAA club and a member of the Ireland Newfoundland Connections Committee.  Keenly active in the community Pat seeks to assist as many community groups as possible. He is a member o f the Dungarvan Pigeon Club and is particularly committed to assisting older people to reduce the burden on them caused by rural isolation. Pat has secured substantial funding over the years for use by many local deserving groups such as the Scouts and the No Name Club. Exceptionally public spirited and generous he is an effective fundraiser for many deserving causes. A man who appreciates the natural beauty of his electoral area, he has worked tirelessly to provide quality facilities such as playgrounds which enhance the local area as a tourist destination. He is a keen cyclist and has recently undertaken an impressive 600km cycle to raise funds in support of a French Hospice. Pat is a compassionate, trusted and hardworking councillor who will continue to put the best interests of the people within his electoral area.

Pat was elected as Mayor of Waterford City and County Council, for 2017-18.
