Cllr Frank McDermott

Frank has been a member of Westmeath County Council since 1967 and served as Chairman of the Council in 2004, and as Cathaoirleach in 2016-17. He is heavily involved with the Westmeath Sports Partnership and is currently on the board. In the community, Frank is a member of the GAA, having supported Loughlane Gael’s Hurling Club and Coolwhite Hall Gaelic Football Club.

He is married with two daughters and one son; one of his daughters is a teacher in Rathwire National School and the other is working abroad in Dubai. HIs son has played Gaelic Football at a senior level for many years with Westmeath GAA.
