1922 Election Centenary Event

The Twenty-Two Commemoration Committee have been working away in the background on an exciting event to mark the Centenary of the 1922 General Election.

This election saw the public vote 75% in favour of Pro-Treaty Candidates.

Our panel of historians led by Professors Michael Laffan and Patrick Geoghegan will be joined by An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar as they discuss the lead up to, the General Election itself, and the consequences of the results.

The event will take place in DCU, St. Pat’s Drumcondra, where one of the two Dublin Counts took place in 1922.

You are invited to join us for a drink’s reception on Saturday, June 18th from 1pm followed by the talk beginning at 2pm.

Spaces are limited so if you wish to attend, I will ask that you register in the form.
