O’Reilly welcomes Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton to Cavan
3rd December 2015 -
Fine Gael TD for Cavan/Monaghan, Joe O’Reilly, will tomorrow (Thursday) welcome the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton to The Errigal Hotel in Cootehill for an Action Plan for Jobs breakfast meeting.
“The Action Plan for Jobs North West/North East, which covers all the border counties, was launched this week with the aim of delivering 28,000 extra jobs for the area.
“The Action Plan for Jobs will build on the existing strengths and assets of the Cavan area to maximise enterprise growth and job creation. In order to do this involvement and contributions from local business and stakeholders is essential.
“Minister Bruton, will tomorrow expand on the Action Plan and how it will affect Cavan. I will close proceedings outlining what I believe to be the priorities for the Cavan area, on the basis of information I am getting from local people on a daily basis.
“I have contacted a number of local businesses to encourage them to come to the meeting and to get involved with the process.
“Since the launch of the Action Plan for Jobs in 2012, the number of people signing on the Live Register in Cavan has reduced by 25.7%. Local jobs are being created, but there is no doubt that we need more.
“Over 135,000 jobs have been created in Ireland since 2012 and I firmly believe that this regional approach to keeping the recovery going will be a success. However the involvement of local stakeholders is extremely important and tomorrow is part of that process.”
