Senator Michael Comiskey
Michael was elected to Seanad Éireann in 2011. He has been involved in public life for over 20 years. He lives on a farm in Newtownmanor on the Sligo/Leitrim border with his wife Elizabeth. They have five sons. Michael was a candidate in the 2007 General Election and while he did not get elected, he managed to secure a very impressive 8000 votes.
He was nominated the REHAB Leitrim Person of the Year in 2001 and has also been a member of the Leitrim Development Company and the County Development Board. Michael was also the Chair of the Fine Gael National Agriculture Committee.
