Senator Tony Mulcahy
Senator Tony Mulcahy was elected to Seanad Éireann on the Labour Panel in April 2011.
Formerly a Councillor, Tony was elected to both Shannon Town Council and Clare County Council in 1999, and was re-elected in 2004 and 2009. He was the Fine Gael Group Leader on both local authorities.
Tony was the Chairperson of Clare County Council in 2009-10 and Shannon Town Council in 2010-11.
Tony has been a long time supporter of the rights of people with disabilities and has served on the board of the Clare Federation of People with Special Needs for the last three years.
Tony has a reputation as a hard grafter and a fearless campaigner with the courage to take on any case no matter how big or small.
