Committee will complete work in timeframe – Noone

Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on the Eight Amendment of the Constitution Catherine Noone said it is the intention of the committee to have their work completed before Christmas.
Senator Noone today (Tuesday) said, “It is the intention of the Oireachtas Committee to consider the recommendations of the Citizens Assembly within the timeframe provided for by the Houses of the Oireachtas”.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday), is just the second public meeting of the Committee. It is a very sensitive and complex issue and we have a very heavy work programme.
“I believe there is commitment from all members to complete its task within the timeframe assigned,” Senator Noone said.
