Flanagan appointed Director of Elections for Carlow-Kilkenny bye-election
25th February 2015 -
The Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Fine Gael TD for Laois-Offaly, Charlie Flanagan, has been appointed Director of Elections for the upcoming Carlow-Kilkenny bye-election.
Minister Flanagan said: “I am very pleased to have been appointed to this role and I am looking forward to the vigorous campaign to win a seat for Fine Gael in the Carlow-Kilkenny bye-election.
“Our campaign will reach every part of these two counties over the next few months and I am looking forward to enlisting the party’s extensive group of supporters to engage with the public on Fine Gael’s priority to secure the recovery that is beginning to take hold in Carlow-Kilkenny.
“While everyone may not be feeling that recovery yet, Fine Gael will be strongly making the case that we can’t risk slipping backwards and a vote for our candidate is a vote for political stability, continued recovery and job creation, which will eventually lead to the restoration of full employment in 2018.
“I wish the two declared candidates, John Bryan and Cllr David Fitzgerald the very best at our selection convention, which will take place on 5th March in the Lyrath Estate Hotel, Kilkenny”
