Huge momentum in housing delivery in Dublin Central – McAdam
30th April 2026 - Fine Gael Press Office
Today’s housing completion figures show real progress is being made to deliver new homes across Dublin Central, the Lord Mayor of Dublin has said.
Councillor Ray McAdam, Fine Gael’s candidate in the Dublin Central bye-election, said housing has been a key issue with people on the doors and today’s figures will be welcomed by communities across Dublin Central.
“I’m delighted to see confirmation of the progress we’re making in housing in Dublin with today’s completion figures.
“In Q1 this year we’ve already seen 255 housing completions in the North Inner City, the area second highest number in the country. And in Cabra-Glasnevin 218 were completed – the third highest number.
“These figures show people want to live in Dublin Central and we’re delivering the homes they need to do so. It is vital that we keep this momentum going and ensure even more people can get the keys to their new home.
“These figures reflect real people; individuals, couples and families, who now have a place they can call their own. As a Councillor for 17 years and as Lord Mayor, I have seen the real impact these figures have on our communities.
“Today’s figures also show three in ten housing completions were in Dublin. We have momentum in the delivery of housing, but we must keep the progress going.
“I want to get even more homes delivered for Dublin Central and I want to be able to do that as a TD for Dublin Central,” concluded Councillor McAdam.
