Minister Ring said: “I’m delighted to have approved support for these projects which will provide a social and economic benefit to communities throughout Mayo. Last year, 32 projects with a value of more than €1.3 million were approved in Mayo under the LEADER programme.
Minister Ring concluded: “The LEADER programme is well and truly up and running. In the first half of 2017 there was an average national approval rate of about €150,000 per month in LEADER. From July to September last year the approval rate increased to about €2.5 million per month. Last month (January) more than €4 million was approved on 125 projects. I expect that it will grow rapidly in 2018 to the benefit of communities and businesses in Mayo and throughout the country.”
