New $50m Jack Daniels distillery for Slane Castle is fantastic news for our area – McEntee
3rd June 2015 -
Fine Gael TD Helen McEntee has said the announcement by US distillers Brown Forman, the company behind Jack Daniel’s, of $50m investment in Slane Castle Irish Whiskey is excellent news for Co Meath. This announcement comes as Meath County Council launched its Economic Development Strategy yesterday.
Deputy McEntee said:
“This investment of $50m by a global brand in actual production here in Slane is brilliant news for our area. I congratulate the Mountcharles family on this excellent news story for Co. Meath.
“The planned creation of 25 new jobs will be an important boost to the local economy and to the Boyne Valley Region. More importantly, these jobs will be a real boost to 25 individuals and households in this region when the jobs come on stream.
“I look forward to the commencement of construction later this summer, and to the distillery being in full operation shortly thereafter. As the local Government TD, I will be available to support this venture in every way I can.”
