New clamping measures will be positive for drivers

Fine Gael Senator Deirdre Clune has welcomed the Heads of a Bill from the Minister for Transport, Leo Varadkar TD, regarding the new clamping legislation. A commitment was given in the Programme for Government to regulate the vehicle clamping industry and that has now been realised.
This was previously an unregulated area which led to confusion and inconsistency in the practise of clamping. However, now clampers will be closely monitored by the National Transport Authority.
