“It offers an opportunity to all the exporters in Munster to export goods to continental Europe via Cork Airport which is Brexit proof and convenient.

“The service will be operated initially by a Boeing 767 lower deck aircraft five days per week, Monday to Friday inclusive.

“It is good see a wide body 767 cargo aircraft using Cork and being handled by Cork Airport. It continues to show that Cork airport can continue to attract a leading global brand along with diversifying its operations.

“It will also better serve the needs of the business community in the South of Ireland and provide for earlier deliveries and later collections for customers within Cork, which is to be welcomed,” Senator Buttimer concluded.
