Cllr Maurice Dockrell
I am serving my first term on Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, having been co-opted in July, 2020 – replacing Barry Ward, following his election to Seanad Éireann.
I am the fifth generation of my family to serve in politics, which started with my great great grandmother Margaret-Sarah, who was elected in 1898 in Blackrock. I am very proud to serve the community in Blackrock Ward and want to do my utmost for our area.
As an employment lawyer, I have a particular interest in safe, flexible work practices and mental health issues. As a father of two children, who go to school locally, I am acutely aware of environmental issues, reducing pollution in a sustainable manner and the need to concentrate on long term planning to provide amenities for all in the future, as well as the present. An urgent priority of mine is the implementation of effective housing policies, so that families are not scattered across the country; the next generation should be able to afford to live in Dún Laoghaire Rathdown.
If you have any issues or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Evenings are the best time to contact me.
I would like to proactively help improve the quality of life of all in the Blackrock Ward and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown. Please check out my Facebook page, Twitter account and Instagram for regular updates as to constituency clinics and meetings.
