Cllr Tom O’Leary

Councillor Tom O’Leary has been a member of Fingal County Council for 17 years. Elected Mayor Fingal for the year 2025/26.

Tom is a member Skerries Mills Board, Chair Skerries Liaison Committee, Fingal Enterprise & Tourism SPC, North East Health Forum, Our Balbriggan, Balbriggan integration forum, and the Eastern Regional Planning Authority.

Tom has lived in Skerries since 1963. He is married with three grown-up children. He has been active within the Fine Gael party for over 30 years.

Councillor O’Leary worked as PA to the Fine Gael Seanad Spokesperson on Business Enterprise Innovation, and brings with him years of experience working alongside Ministers, government officials, project planning and public speaking.

Fingal Priorities:

  • More New Housing asap
  • Bremore Port for Balbriggan
  • Dublin AirPort expansion to 60m-new terminal 3
  • More Community Centres+All Weather Pitches

Tom’s priorities for Skerries include the following:

  • 40/60 Acre Sports Hub + Biodiversity Park Skerries
  • Major upgrade of all Pitches at Skerries Community Centre
  • Support Renewal upgrade Plans for Skerries Rugby clubhouse
  • St. Michael’s House Special New School –  Loughshinny

Tom’s Priorities for Balbriggan:

  • €10m Swimming Pool funded by Government & Council
  • 3000 New sustainable local Jobs on 250 acres Council Lands Balbriggan
  • St. Mologa’s National School New 16 Classroom School
  • 800 Affordable homes Hampton Desmesne incl new road access and 12 acre linear park
  • Spend €65m upgrading town centre
