Cllr Pete Roche
Pete was elected Leas-Chathaoirleach of Galway County Council in June 2020, and will hold that office for twelve months.
Peter first ran for election to Galway County Council in 2009, and has been re-elected at every election since, receiving the third-highest number of first preference votes of any Fine Gael candidate in the country in 2014. Peter is currently chair of the Tuam Municipal Authority and has been a member of the County Galway Joint Policing Committee for the past five years.
Peter is married to Bridie and they have four sons, Alan, Adrian, Mark and youngest Colin, who is deceased since November 2010. He has worked at community level for the last 25 years in Abbeyknockmoy. Peter was an ambassador for Console in the West of Ireland. He is a full-time public representative and is available at all times to his constituents.
