John Sheahan

John is in the insurance and financial services sector and is married to Mary with whom he has two children. He was elected to Limerick County Council in 2004 and subsequently topped the poll in 2009. A member of the Glen GAA club and Aghea Drama Group John is popular in the local community.

Newcastlewest is a primary district in West Limerick and John is committed to keeping it at the top of the agenda in the new Limerick County Council. He is aware that the recent reforms in Local Government has resulted in more power being devolved locally, therefore John is acutely aware of the need for strong, solid local representatives with effective leadership skills to maximise the opportunities contained in the new system and is more than willing and capable of taking on this important task.
