Cllr Peggy Nolan
Peggy was first elected to office in the 2000 local elections, she is married to Paddy and they have three grown up children and five grandchildren. She is a particularly capable, competent and experienced public representative. Peggy acted as chair of the Gathering Committee for Co. Longford, and indeed this was one of the most successful groups in terms of organised events and came third nationally in terms of activities. Going forward Peggy will continue to strive to assist all within her local electoral area and is aiming to lobby to retain current health facilities in the area and to seek funding for the acute hospital based in Mullingar. She will continue to campaign for fluoride to be removed from drinking water and will seek to step up rural security following the closure of rural Garda Stations. A constant and fearless activist she is keenly promoting the Abbeyshrule Airfield upgrade to facilitate cargo flights, and is looking forward to helping all who seek her assistance within her local electoral area.
