Jarlath Munnelly was elected to Mayo County Council in 2004, and re-elected in 2009 & 2014. He is a qualified teacher, and a graduate of the University of Limerick. As a married man with 4 children, Jarlath is aware of the challenges facing people in the Ballina Area.
Jarlath has a proven track record of delivery, including many improvements to roads, piers and other facilities in the Ballina area.
He has prioritised job creation and has been a strong supporter of developments at the former Asahi site in Killala, including the Mayo Renewable Power project and Emerald Networks high speed transatlantic optical fibre network.
“He wants to see the former Asahi site in Killala becoming an industrial park, capable of supporting employment for people across North Mayo.”
