John O’Hara

My name is John O’Hara. I represent the Ballina Electoral Area. I am married to Margaret Doherty from Ardagh. We have five children ; two still in second level, one in third level education, one working at home and one abroad. I myself am an ESB technician working in Ballina and a County Councillor. My objectives include the following: attract new industry into the region while protecting and promoting industries already in place, introduce free parking at different times in order to attract shoppers to the town, progress the N26 road project, open a new tourist corridor for Bus and Tour Operators linking West Sligo to North Mayo, further promote River Moy, Walks, Cycle Lanes, Fishing and other new activities, represent all farming activities in the local area, encourage the careful management of our schools, Health System and Care for our Elderly and Disabled, support Neighbourhood Watch and Community Alert Schemes and listen and meet groups or individuals whose voices are not normally heard.
