Donna Sheridan
Cllr Donna Sheridan is from Balla and now lives and works in Castlebar. Over the past ten years she has worked in the education sector, as a secondary and further education teacher. She is now engaged in the co-ordination and planning of further education.
In 2019 Donna was elected as Fine Gael Councillor in the Castlebar Municipal District in 2019. Since then, Donna has been a committed and hardworking representative for all who call Castlebar home.
Donna priorities are:
- Ensure the basics infrastructure, footpaths, roads, tree and edge cutting is maintained and developed across the district
- Provision of Community Facilities
- Support business to develop and thrive
- Ensure families have access to childcare options
- Enhance Tourism Opportunities
- Provision of housing across the district
- Ensure fairness and transparency within Mayo County Council.
As well as her work as a local councillor, she is an experienced representative of those involved in the education system. In 2013 Donna was elected as staff representative to the Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim Education and Training Board. Donna was also elected to the national executive of the Teachers Union of Ireland.
She has completed a Higher Diploma in Education, a master’s in business studies and a master’s in education leadership and management.
