David Maxwell
David was first elected in 2004, and was returned at all subsequent elections since. He was honoured to have been elected as Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council in 2018, and he was elected again, as Cathaoirleach, for the year 2023-24.
Married to Gillian, they have two children.
David supports the arts, and is a member of the Garage Theatre Company Monaghan.
He is deeply rooted in the local community and is involved with the Monaghan St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Harvest Time Blues Festival.
Going forward, he is committed to working to ensure that Monaghan is an attractive and prosperous place for all people within his local electoral area to live and work in.
