Declan Burgess is a Fine Gael Councillor in the Cashel-Tipperary Electoral Area, elected in May 2019, on his first attempt – receiving an impressive 1,322 first preference votes.

Declan is deeply rooted in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees with local clubs and organisations in the Cashel area, including Cashel King Cormac’s GAA Club, Cashel Heritage & Development Trust and Cashel St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.

Since being elected to Tipperary County Council, he has been working hard in the areas of Housing, Health, Roads, Water, Planning and Community Development.

Declan is pragmatic and innovative in driving our local economy and supporting small businesses. As a County Councillor, he has forged an impressive reputation for hard work and holds regular advice clinics to provide an effective service to the people of the Cashel-Tipperary area.

Declan’s priorities as a County Councillor include promoting Cashel as a destination town, ensuring balanced regional and rural development, greater investment in rural transport and roads, the provision of high-speed broadband in Tipperary, supporting community and sporting projects and improving essential local Health services.
