Cllr Trish Byrne
Patricia Byrne (32) is from Ballyhogue, a rural village in the parish of Bree in Co Wexford.
She was co-opted as a Councillor in June 2025, replacing Cathal Byrne, following his election to Seanad Éireann.
Patricia is a long-standing member of the Fine Gael Bree Branch and seconded Senator Cathal Byrne’s nomination at convention to stand for Wexford County Council in 2024, as well as playing an active role in his local and national election campaigns and the national campaigns of fellow parishioner Paul Kehoe’s election campaigns from a young age.
A graduate of UCC, Patricia is heavily involved in her local community, having previously served on the Executive of Ballyhogue GAA Club, in the roles of PRO and Secretary of Coiste na nÓg. She currently sits on the Board of Scoil Mhuire Primary School in Ballyhogue. She is the South East Regional Vice Chair of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust with whom she has been a volunteer since 2010. She also currently holds the role of Group Leader for the Enniscorthy group, of the Irish Pilgrimage Trust bring children and young adults with additional needs on respite holidays in Ireland as well as the annual trip to Lourdes from which they have just returned.
Patricia is the manager of Hammels of Bree, formerly Byrne’s of Bree, a busy supermarket, post office and bar in the heart of Bree village.
