Cllr Úna McCarthy
Úna joined Cork County Council in October 2023, when she was co-opted to represent the Carrigaline Local Electoral Area. She was subsequently elected in the 2024 Local Elections and has since contested the General Election in Cork South Central.
A native of Rochestown, Úna attended school in Passage West, where she now teaches. She lives in Carrigaline with her family.
A committed community activist, Úna has been actively involved in local charity work and youth initiatives. She is passionate about supporting young people, coaching camogie both in her school and with Carrigaline Camogie Club, and promoting the importance of sport in building confidence, resilience, and lifelong wellbeing.
Her priorities on the Council include road safety, enhancing local infrastructure, and expanding sports and recreation facilities to strengthen and support the community.
