Michael Murphy, TD
Michael was elected as a TD in November 2024 and lives in Clonmel with his wife Jacinta and their son Alex.
Together with his team, Michelle, Edel and Marie, they can be contacted at his offices in Clonmel and Carrick on Suir, as well as regular monthly clinic across the Constituency.
His 15 years political experience combined with 30 years as a Senior Executive in the private sector qualify him to effectively represent the people of South Tipperary.
His roots are deeply extended across Tipperary and as a family man he is closely involved with many local communities and understands their challenges.
As Chair of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, he is currently undertaking a series of focussed meetings around Road Safety working closely with Victim Advocacy Groups like PARC.
With a steadfast focus to deliver for the Constituency, Michael recently welcomed progress on the following projects,
- Plans for a new all-weather track at Tipperary Racecourse ‘will breathe new life into town’
- Minister for Justice will visit Tipperary for sod-turning for new Garda station
- Progress confirmed on much-needed extension for Tipperary school for kids with special needs
- New Clonmel based nursing unit hopes to be ready early next year – Tipp FM
- Government allocates almost €1m towards regeneration of derelict site in Carrick-on-Suir
