Gareth Scahill
A strong active voice for West Roscommon
The Fine Gael local election candidate in Castlerea and Roscommon electoral area is Gareth Scahill. He was born and raised in Castlerea and works in the family business, Scahill Electrical and Household. Gareth is married to Nicola, and they have two young daughters, Kate (8) and Abbie (7).
Gareth has experience in developing plans to enhance and promote the town as a founder member of the Castlerea Town Team. He also serves on the Local Community Development Committee. Previously, he sat on the Planning, Environment, Climate Action, and Local Governance Committee within Roscommon County Council. Gareth is an active member of Walk Development and the local GAA.
If elected, Gareth will be a strong and active voice for West Roscommon. His campaign priorities include
- safer streets and stronger communities,
- improved community facilities and services,
- enhanced access to local amenities and public spaces, and
- positioning the county to be at the forefront to avail of Climate Action Funding.
