Kieran O’Donnell, TD

 

Kieran O’Donnell is the Minister of State with responsibility for Local Government and Planning.

He was elected as a TD for Limerick City. He was previously a Senator in the 25th Seanad, where he was the Fine Gael Spokesperson on Finance in the Seanad. He previously served as a TD, having been re-elected to the Dáil in February 2011, having first been elected in May 2007. Kieran is currently Chairperson of the Oireachtas Transport and Communications committee and a member of the Budgetary Oversight Oireachtas Committee.

He was appointed Deputy Spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade and Innovation with Special Responsibility for Enterprise & Employment, October 2010, having previously been a Spokesperson on Finance. Kieran has served as Vice-Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee( PAC), member of the Banking Inquiry and as a member of the Oireachtas Finance Committee.

Kieran is married to Phil and has four children. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with many years of experience with his own practice and has an honours Business Studies degree from UL. He has a special interest in Disabilities.

Job creation as well as promoting Limerick City, Shannon Airport and the region are amongst his main priorities.
