This project has the potential to revolutionise our region, just as oil and gas production has transformed regions like Houston, Texas and the Middle East. Mayo can become a hub for sustainable energy and lead the way in Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”

In addition to the environmental benefits, Deputy Dillon recognises the project’s positive impact on the local community.

“The construction and operation of this multi-million euro state-of-the-art facility will create numerous job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in our communities.
