Seán Kyne, TD

Seán Kyne is from Maigh Cuilinn, Co Galway on the outskirts of Galway City. Seán has previously served as a Cllr, Senator, Minister of State across many Departments, as Government Chief Whip and as Leader of Seanad Éireann.

Seán is 51 years of age and has approaching 22 years experience in politics. Seán has represented Fine Gael, Galway West and Connemara on Irish language media over many years.

Seán has served as Minister for the Gaeltacht and has served on Oireachtas committees on health, Irish language, jobs, European affairs and defence.

Seán has promoted investment in University Hospital Galway, is a strong supporter of the Galway Transportation Plan particularly the Ring Road. Seán promoted investment in community centres and was instrumental in the establishment of the community centre investment fund with funding provided to Maigh Cuilinn and Newcastle in Galway City as a result.

Seán recognises the importance of investment in housing of all types across the constituency and has advocated for the recent investment in Uisce Eireann to build the infrastructure to deliver even more homes.
