We all dream of a League of Ireland stream – ROCK

4th February 2019 - Noel Rock TD

Fine Gael T.D. for Dublin North West, Noel Rock has today (Monday) welcomed plans for the upgrading of web-streaming services for League of Ireland games. While welcoming the news Deputy Rock also called on the FAI to allow the service to be made available to fans in Ireland as well.

Speaking on the matter, Deputy Rock said, “The news of this upgrade is welcome news for our domestic league. I believe this a major positive step for the League of Ireland and the teams that participate in the Premier and First Divisions. There is still a lot of work to be done with the league and domestic football across the board but I believe this will inevitably be a good thing for the clubs and fans alike.

“It is crucial that the FAI allow the streams to be accessed by Irish fans. While we would all like to see attendances increase at games, sometimes it is just not possible for fans to make long trips to see their team play. I am of the opinion that the upgrade to the web-streaming service will increase interest in the League of Ireland,” continued Deputy Rock.

“As a member of the Oireachtas Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport, I welcome the opportunity to question the FAI when they appear before the committee on February 20th regarding the proposed developments for the League of Ireland, the clubs, the players and coaches,” concluded Deputy Rock.
