Heather Humphreys TD
Heather Humphreys TD was appointed Minister of Department of Regional Development, Rural Affairs, Arts & the Gaeltacht on 6 May 2016. Heather previously served as Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht from July 2014 – May 2016. She was elected to the Dáil on February 2011 for the constituency of Cavan Monaghan. She was re-elected to Monaghan County council in June 2009 and during her time she was Chair of the Council’s Strategic Policy Committee on Planning and Economic Development. She was chairperson of Monaghan County Council from 09-10.

Heather has being playing the piano since she was six. Her first job was in Butlins in Mosney (not as a red coat but as a waitress). Heather?s favourite book is Showtime by Pat Leahy. Her favourite quote is : ‘good leadership can be described as humility with a great resolve to succeed’?. Heather is married with two children and lives on a farm.
