Applications for 2015 National Lottery Health Grants open tomorrow – McFadden

Fine Gael TD for Longford/Westmeath, Gabrielle McFadden, has reminded community groups and organisations that application forms for the 2015 National Lottery Health grants will go live on the Department of Health’s website from tomorrow, Tuesday, February 17th.
“These grants are aimed at community groups and voluntary organisations providing health, support or information services to groups such as people with an intellectual or physical disability. It is also open to organisations which have specific health-related interests.
“In 2014, the Department of Health approved funding for six organisations in the constituency, totalling €34,000.
“Local beneficiaries included the Irish Red Cross in Athlone which received €15,000 towards the cost of a new ambulance; Athlone Meals on Wheels benefitted from €10,000 towards the cost of buying a van; the 1428 Active Retirement Club in Mullingar received an allocation of €3,000 towards the continued refurbishment of a new premises and the Arthritis in Ireland branch in Tully, Longford were awarded €2,500 towards the cost of funding ‘Living with Arthritis’ courses.
“The 2015 Department of Health’s National Lottery Grants will be awarded on two dates this year, one in June and the other in November.
“The closing date for applications is 12 noon on the 1 st of May 2015.”
