Brian Walsh TD
Brian Walsh was elected to the Dail in February 2011. He was first elected to Galway City Council in 2004 and was re-elected in June 2009. Brian worked in Financial Services after leaving college in 1999, and he has run his own financial management business for the past 12 years. He was Mayor of Galway City from 2005 to 2006 and chairs the local RAPID Committee and the City Economic Planning Committee. Brian was educated at St. Michael’s Mervue, The Bish and GMIT, where he was President of the Student’s Union.
Brian is married and has one daughter, Lisa. Brian is sports fan, particularly GAA, soccer and horse racing. He played for Mervue GAA Club as a youngster, and he remains a loyal supporter of his local club, St James.
