Extra nurses will alleviate pressure at Naas General – Durkan

Fine Gael TD for Kildare North, Bernard Durkan, has welcomed the announcement of 39 new nursing appointments at Naas General Hospital.
“The hiring of 39 new nurses at Naas General will go a long way towards alleviating the pressure in A&E.
“When I was involved in the upgrading of Naas General Hospital in 1996, I explained the importance of adequate accommodation and staff levels to ensure the hospital’s viability and patient satisfaction in the future. I now hope that the recent overcrowding problem at the hospital can be alleviated and that all possible space there can be utilised to give the necessary support to staff and patients.
“These additional nursing posts will do a lot to improve the situation. I would also like to commend the current staff who have seen the hospital through one of its busiest periods, working in challenging circumstances, without letting their high standards drop.”
