Cllr Fitzgibbon is a teacher who runs a Montessori playschool in New Ross employing five people and serving 60 families.
Said Cllr Fitzgibbon: “As a businessperson, I fully appreciate that the priority of this Government has been to stabilise our economy and regain independent control of our finances. It has worked, and I respect the decisions the Government has made to get us to that place.
“I believe my priorities complement Enda Kenny’s aim of making our country the best in the world in which to do business. I am delighted to have been accepted into the Fine Gael party and to have received this nomination. I believe it is an endorsement of my work on New Ross Town Council over the past four years.”
Tom Curran said: Fine Gael is delighted to welcome Cllr Niamh Fitzgibbon. She has a superb track record in serving her community. Cllr Fitizgibbon’s political values sit well within the Fine Gael ethos and she is an excellent addition to the Party’s team in New Ross.
“The Party’s Executive Council believes Fine Gael has put in place an excellent team in the New Ross electoral area. We are very confident of success in the Local Elections in Wexford.”
