Speaking after the vote, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “I welcome the election of Deputy Martin Heydon as Chair of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party and I wish him all the very best in the role. I know he will do a great job and will represent the Party with distinction.
“I also welcome the election of Deputy Pat Deering as Vice Chair and Deputy Noel Rock as Secretary, and I know they will be a great support to Deputy Heydon in his role as Chair.
