Heydon elected Chair of Fine Gael Parliamentary Party

Fine Gael TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon, has been elected Chair of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party, in a vote at a meeting of the Parliamentary Party tonight (Wednesday).
TD for Carlow/Kilkenny Pat Deering, was elected Vice Chair, and TD for Dublin North West Noel Rock, was elected Secretary.
Speaking after the vote, An Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “I welcome the election of Deputy Martin Heydon as Chair of the Fine Gael Parliamentary Party and I wish him all the very best in the role. I know he will do a great job and will represent the Party with distinction.
“I also welcome the election of Deputy Pat Deering as Vice Chair and Deputy Noel Rock as Secretary, and I know they will be a great support to Deputy Heydon in his role as Chair.
“All three are hard working public representatives, who will no doubt apply the same diligence to these roles as they do to representing their constituents in the Dáil.”
