Julie Hogan to represent Fine Gael in Wexford in General Election

Fine Gael has announced that Julie Hogan will represent the party in the Wexford Constituency in the forthcoming General Election, along with Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe and Senator Michael D’Arcy.

Julie Hogan, from Parkside, Carcur, Wexford, is the daughter Pat (a well-known musician) and Terrie (neé Carpendale) from Saltmills.

She was educated at Ramsgrange Community School and is a Team Manager at Eishtec in Wexford.

Julie is well-known for her voluntary work with theatre with schools and educational projects, and activity on behalf of various charities: including St Clare’s Day Centre, Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, and mental health charities.

“I am proud and honoured to be a General Election candidate for the Party,” Ms. Hogan stated.

“Fine Gael should be commended for seeking out fresh and young female voices, while at the same time opening the door to new candidates. This also opens the door to a new conversation in Irish politics, where gender is equally and fairly represented on the election ticket. 

“I am proud to represent a party that encourages change, equality and empowerment of those who genuinely want to make a difference within their local communities.

“I believe I can advance the causes that are important to me, and to people like me in my constituency, particularly youth services, unemployment and supporting older people. Jobs are central to this cause. More jobs mean less tax for working people and more revenue to provide better services.

“Fine Gael is doing its best to spread the benefits of recovery to as many homes as possible and I am proud to be a Party General Election candidate in Wexford,” she concluded.

Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe said: “I am delighted to welcome the addition of Julie Hogan, a superb candidate. I will be delighted to work alongside her and believe Fine Gael now has the strongest possible team for the General Election in Wexford.”

Senator Michael D’Arcy said: “Julie Hogan will strongly boost the Party’s hopes of success in the Wexford constituency and I warmly welcome her addition.   She has an excellent record of hard work in the voluntary sector and I know she will prove to be an asset to the Fine Gael General Election team in Wexford.”
